Questions, answered plainly.
Anything we missed? Email hello@9jatesters.com.
Is 9jatesters live yet?+
Yes — the platform is in beta. The product, dashboard, BVN verification, AI summarisation, and naira payouts are all real and running. Tester volume is being grown deliberately so every pilot ships at the quality bar we promise.
Why does 9jatesters ask for my BVN?+
We need to confirm that the Nigerian bank account you give us for payouts actually belongs to you. Paystack runs that match against your bank's KYC record. We never expose your BVN to clients, AI-data buyers, or any third party — it is used once for verification and stored encrypted. Full details on /privacy.
How much do testers earn?+
Usability testers earn ₦400–₦2,500 per approved session, depending on session length and complexity. Voice / AI-data prompts pay ₦300 per approved clip on the current pilot, with 100% going to the tester (no marketplace cut on data work).
When and how do I get paid?+
Paystack transfer to your verified Nigerian bank account, typically within 24 hours of the admin approving your submission. Failed or rejected submissions don't generate a payout — we'll send a short reason so you know what to fix.
What languages can I test in?+
Pidgin, Yoruba, Igbo, Hausa, and Nigerian English. You pick the language(s) you speak natively during onboarding, and we only route jobs that match.
What do clients pay?+
Pay-as-you-go: ₦500–₦3,000 per approved tester session, depending on session length. No subscriptions, no minimums. Failed sessions cost the client nothing. AI-data pilots start at $1.20 per approved clip with volume discounts on contract.
Do you have an app?+
No download required — everything runs in the browser. Tester recordings use the standard web Screen Capture + Microphone APIs on Android, iOS, and desktop.
Who do you sell AI training data to?+
AI labs, foundation-model teams, and product teams building speech / language tools for Nigerian and West African markets. Deals are direct contracts with a standard data licence; pilots are 500 clips by default. Reach out at hello@9jatesters.com.
Where are you based?+
We're built in Nigeria, for Nigeria. The founding team and operations are Nigeria-based; the testing panel spans every region of the country. Hosting and processors (Supabase, Vercel, Stripe, Paystack, Google Gemini) span the usual international list with NDPR-compliant transfer terms.
How can I get in touch?+
Email hello@9jatesters.com for general questions, privacy@9jatesters.com for data-rights requests, or hit "Start a pilot" on /ai-data if you're an AI lab interested in Nigerian-language data.
