AI data licence

Consent-led Nigerian language data, licensed before collection.

AI-data work is not bundled into ordinary user testing. Every paid data pilot gets a scoped licence that defines permitted use, contributor consent, quality rules, retention, redistribution, and deletion rights.

Covered data types

Licences can cover speech recordings, translation pairs, prompts, preference ratings, safety red-team notes, transcription, and annotation outputs collected from qualified Nigerian contributors.

  • Voice, text, preference, and evaluation tasks
  • Language, accent, device, and context metadata
  • Data cards included for scoped pilots

Contributor consent

Contributors see a separate AI-data consent notice before data reuse. Payment is not a substitute for consent, and consent basis is logged with the dataset record.

  • Plain-language consent before collection
  • Consent status tracked in provenance
  • Withdrawal process documented before delivery

Permitted use

The licence states whether the buyer may use the dataset for model training, evaluation, internal benchmarking, research, or production model improvement. Redistribution is not included unless expressly agreed.

  • Training and evaluation rights scoped separately
  • No resale or public release by default
  • Academic/publication use requires explicit terms

Quality and provenance

Datasets include provenance metadata, task instructions, review gates, sampling limits, and known caveats so AI teams can decide whether the data is fit for purpose.

  • Gold checks and rejection reasons where applicable
  • Collection method and reviewer notes
  • Known bias and coverage caveats

Privacy and security

Personal identifiers are minimized. Buyer access is scoped to approved exports, and sensitive fields are redacted or aggregated unless the licence explicitly requires otherwise.

  • Personal identifiers minimized before delivery
  • No bank, payout, or login metadata in exports
  • Project-specific retention and deletion terms

Delivery package

A pilot delivery can include the data files, manifest, README/data card, consent summary, QC report, and a licence schedule signed or approved before work starts.

  • CSV/JSONL/audio formats as scoped
  • Licence schedule and data card
  • Human review before buyer acceptance

No silent model training

Ordinary product-test recordings are not reused for buyer model training unless a separate AI-data consent and licence path has been agreed.

Why licence before collection

It protects contributors, buyers, and 9jatesters. AI teams get clean provenance; contributors understand reuse; buyers know exactly what rights they are purchasing.
